This is the strip after the furnace before the scale breaker and the pickle tanks.

These are the pickle tanks that the strip passes through an acid bath to finish the cleaning process

This is the scale breaker section of the line the material has a scale on it after comming out of the furnace and that equipment that the guy is looking at is flexing the steel to loosen up the scale

Here is a coil that is running.

This a different view of the problems with strip tracking. The strip pulled this from the floor. There was a walk way over this roll. That would not have been the place to be when it started shaking and uprooting.

Here is what happens when you don't pay attention to the process. The stainless steel that we were running through the line did not break when the strip tracked off and caught on the structure. It just pulled this 6 foot diameter roll out of the floor it was bolted to.

This is a picture of one of the billets coming out of the furnace after the system is up and running. This piece goes down a conveyor and is placed in several presses that stamp a crank shaft for use in car engines.

This is the DC drive that I worked on last week and yesterday. This is a forge application the company make crank shafts. The line has approx 20inch long steel billets being moved through an induction furnace by this drive.
